Experience French Country Silo in Constantia
Discover the charm of French Country Silo, a unique three-story accommodation built from converted grain silos – the tallest structure in the Constantia Valley. Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, paddocks, and the lush greenbelt.
Outdoor & Indoor Living
A generous, shaded patio adorned with bougainvillea spans the entire width of the building, creating a perfect setting for outdoor dining and relaxation. Inside, the property features four elegant double en-suite bedrooms with both a bath and shower, queen beds, a cozy lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining area—all styled in a distinctive French revival design.
Convenience & Amenities
Service & Maintenance: Enjoy complimentary housekeeping three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) with the option for additional services at an extra charge.
Laundry & Pet Policy: Laundry is available for a nominal fee, and pets can be accommodated by prior arrangement with a pet fee.
Modern Comforts: Four air-conditioned bedrooms, a large flat-screen TV with DStv, unlimited high-speed fibre WiFi, a gas stove, and a braai area. Inverters are installed to help minimize interruptions from load shedding.
Welgelee Estate & Surrounding Features
Set within the expansive Welgelee Estate—once part of a large dairy farm spanning over six acres—this retreat is nestled in one of the Western Cape’s most tranquil and verdant areas. Guests can wander through established gardens, explore equestrian stables, and stroll along the Constantia Greenbelt, where indigenous flora enhances the natural beauty of the region. The estate also boasts a romantic, secluded pool for hot summer days (please note the pool is seasonal and closed in winter).
In addition to the Silo, the estate offers a Main House, a quaint Stable Cottage, and a romantic French Cottage. Although these properties share the estate, the house and garden you book remain completely private. The pool, shared with two other cottages, is conveniently located away from the main accommodations.
Winter Weather Advisory
Cape Town winters (June–August) are typically cold, wet, and damp—a normal regional climate that does not indicate any mold issues. While the property provides blankets and heaters, guests are advised to pack warm clothing, layers, and rain gear, as indoor temperatures may be cooler than anticipated. For those preferring warmer conditions, consider booking between November and March. Booking during the winter months signifies your acceptance of these conditions.
Experience a one-of-a-kind retreat at French Country Silo, where historic character meets modern luxury amidst the stunning backdrop of Constantia.
